imgur.com/J1b3Ev6I didnt know where to post this project That Ive been working on but Ive run into some issues and problems after getting these motors finished.I took four DOA power torque blocks ground them out to accomdate these little 6 volt motorshttps://imgur.com/29UV9zN I had lying around all are new not something that was salvaged out any cd or video game player.I was able to get some 64 pitch 8 tooth pin gears that fit these motors shafts that were better that an original tyco pinion and that I didn't have to drill the old pinion out because I dont own a drill press.Any way I was able to rig up some L shaped brackets three out of aluminum, one out of brass to hold the large plastic gear on or atleast keep it from walking off which is whats gonna happen when you use anther pinion that wasn't a tyco original that has a small lip on it designed to keep that big plastic gear on.Got the idea for the brackets from another rebuild someone did.Now here's the problems I am running into, first connecting the wires on these motors to the locomotive lets say a 630 alco that's the first of these I tryed to install one in.THE wire on these motors, your power feeds are so small and flimsy its like drinking coffee with a fork,I dont even know what guage they are.I was able to strip back a small portion of the wire on the motor feeds, red to the rear truck, original tyco wire by twisting the two exposed wires together, then soldering good enough and wrapping electrical tape around the soldered area. Then put the truck together with axles,I didn't bother trying to rig up fastening it into the shell yet because that was frustrating as well.https://i.imgur.com/iteH6hw.jpgTryed modfying one of the plastic brackets that pops into place that holds the power torque truck in but you can only cut so much out of it without cracking or ruining the strength of the bracket itselfhttps://i.imgur.com/haAAGyy.jpg.Got it to where the truck would swivel some but the bracket collasped in the shell so thats one problem.https://i.imgur.com/iteH6hw.jpghttps://i.imgur.com/3EAF5Qj.jpgSo I ended just setting the truck into the shell for the time being letting it ride in there until I can rug something uphttps://i.imgur.com/3EAF5Qj.jpg.Wired red wire to rear truck black wire to locomotive head light.https://i.imgur.com/k9T2gdE.jpgSet it up on the track and got absoulutley nothing no light no power not even a studder, zip, zilch ,nada.https://i.imgur.com/bkfoRk8.jpgVery frustrating. So my botch soldering trying to connect the front truck to the rear proably isnt workinghttps://i.imgur.com/knTPkls.jpg.Another frustration is Ive no real way to test these motors off a power pack unless Ive got them on the track. I tryed the other day to strip a small portion of wire from one of the other motor feeds to splice it to a power pack and cut a part of that accidently. So question that asking on here is this .How in the heck do I connect my power wire front truck to the rear truck wire? Is the spilce I came up with a good enough idea?or should I use a but connector crimped or maybe a heat shrink wrap over the wires after Ive soldered them together?https://i.imgur.com/J1b3Ev6.jpg This is something like Ive never dealt with before. On the power torques you just solder your wires to the brush plates no such way with these motors. So I cant even power these bad boys up to see if they work or not.I tryed to post pictures into this thread don't know if they posted or not.Thanksfor listening to my whinehttps://i.imgur.com/OHlGKnV.jpg
