The Jade Fog, formerly: Dave: Sounds like we need a marriage and interpersonal relations thread somewhere. I congratulate all who are still standing!

ZeldaTheSwordsman: That eerie feeling when you may have, for the second time, bought an item from a seller who turns out to be incapacitated

JNXT 7707: Won't be long until we'll be mowing the grass here. Pretty soon I'll be complaining about the heat again.

umpdan31: I'll NEVER complain about the heat. I've been to Houston in July and Orlando in June and it was not too hot. I mean, can you play baseball in the snow?

JNXT 7707: Dan, how long did you stay in Houston and Orlando? I visited Texas plenty of times before I moved here. "No problemo"

umpdan31: You got me there, Jerry. We stayed a week at both locations but we go to Florida every year. We almost moved there but the kids were quite upset so we stayed here in Pennsylvania.

oldtimer52: Well Dan, it worked out pretty good for ya. Trains don't get eaten by gators, swallowed by pythons, blown away by hurricanes or lost in the Bermuda Triangle.

ZeldaTheSwordsman: There's a horrifying thought for you: A gator that could swallow a Big Boy

JNXT 7707: I dunno, Z. From my experience with spackle, it seems like it would be too grainy. On the other hand it's cheap and plentiful and can be sanded.

mph: Do you have something you can test it on other than the locomotive?

dastumer: I just use Tamiya filler putty. It works well, and one tube will go a long way.

rbturner: I can't imagine spackle would adhere very well. I did have a loco come in that had Durham's water putty in it for weight. What a mess.

ZeldaTheSwordsman: Yes, well, dasturner, that would be lovely if I had some

JNXT 7707: Personally I hate spackle, I use it on the layout because I think it's better than the alternatives I've heard of and it ends up being covered and painted over anyway. It's best use is on walls as it was intended.

The Jade Fog, formerly: Dave: Water-based spackle would be a poor choice as a plastic filler. You'll be happier with the results with a putty made for plastic. But if getting it will take too long or be a problem- use what you have.
