You know you guys can count on me for at least one EOTW. Here's this month's.
I sold a caboose on 3/31, which is 4 days ago. No payment. I'm aware that ebay asks people to pay up within 5 days I think, which in itself seems a little over-generous to me, but still....I've been bit more and more lately by non-payers who have glowing feedback of "Lightning fast payment". Huh? lol....anyway, I send him a message asking is anybody home? congrats on winning the auction but unfortunately now it's time to pay and if there's problem let me know.
To his credit, he responded within 6 hours....with an entire paragraph:
Yes there is somebody home, I work midnights and sleep during the day with rotating days off. I send my payments on my days off, one of which is today , but unfortunately I’m installing a circulator in my mother in laws hot water heating system . I’m not a plumber or a HVAC. guy so I’m hoping I get it done before the supply house closes. It’s only been 4 days , well within ebays parameters . If you looked at my profile it’s 100% with no record of nonpayment. I expect to get to it by tomorrow.
Well great! But honestly my first reaction was that in the time it took for him to get my message, read it, and then reply, couldn't he have just went ahead and completed the payment? Is it that involved? I buy things on ebay too, and the last time I did, I think it was less than 30 seconds between the time I hit the 'pay now' button and the screen that said "thanks for your purchase"!
LOL what am I missing here? Holy Toledo.....................
