Awhile back, many YEARS back, I found these Train Miniature kits, they came in a plastic container, black base, clear top, with a whitish unpainted body and black chassis. I started with 2 box cars, then found more over time. One thing that was missing was an engine. I finally scored a white undecorated shell on Ebay ( man those things sometimes command high prices, this one was stuck in between other parts, and the picture wasn't great, so I got the lot for a decent price ). Then I needed a running frame. I then found out serendipitously that Walthers had bought up the Train Miniature line, and it was now called Train Line. I called them up and asked if the new chassis would fit the old shell, and they said Yes, it was a copy. So, I ordered the Train Line F7, and am going to use that much-improved chassis to power my vintage Train Miniature consist.
The MAIN thing I wanted to do with this train is put greenish LED lights inside that pulse, for a ghostly Halloween type haunted train. After some searching , Target had some long 5-LED strobing lights, that should fit inside, battery powered, from their Dollar Spot area some years ago. So with the train about complete ( I'd like more cars, but finding these translucent white ones are hard to do ), all I need is some time and motivation to get this project done. And get ALL the parts in the SAME place. But it's one of my longer-term projects that I hope to complete before Halloween 2015. I better get busy, I've only got a couple months left! I've been saying THIS the last few years! It's on my Top 5 Git-er-Done! projects list for this year. Kinda like a model train New Years Resolution. I think the caboose is the only piece not a Train Miniature item. But I think I did find another one, and it MAY be. Anyway, hopefully the ghost train will make an appearance finally in 2015.
