That beats the heck out of US-1 Trucking, doesn't it?
The JNXT Family of Transportation Companies:
JNXT Railroad "The Weasel Route" BRTX Railroad "The Buzzard Route" P&S Railroad "Don't blame us, this isn't our equipment" The Buzzardly Shops "See us for your Mega-Tanker needs. NEW - Now your caboose HQ. See Earl for all the details."
Very cool! I'd love to know where they get the components to build these. I've been trying to figure out a way to build a working model car or bus for my layout. Theoretically you just need to power the rear wheels and add a steering system with a magnet to the front. Embed a metal wire in the road and off you go! I believe that's the same way the Faller car system works. I'm just not sure how to build those components at such a small scale. I suppose I could just buy a Faller car, but that's no fun...
The last batch of 'junk' that I was given has a manual for that bus system. I'll see if I kept it and look for any info it may have that'll help you.
Sure, thanks! I was looking at those two slotcars you sent me and wondering if I could add a steering system to them. I'm just not sure if the speed would be manageable.
Pictures online show the Faller cars as having a long worm gear on the motor which drives a geared axle. Neat way to reduce the speed. Just the motor+gears are on ebay for $30, but maybe there's something cheaper.

The Faller Car System... I haven't seen that since I posted a video of it at Minatur Wunderland on another forum over 10 years ago. Good to see they are still in business. Judging by that big rig they've made some interesting advancements in that time.

rbturner: Being unable to rake in new grass seed; I have a new technique. I threw grass seed on bare ground. Then covered it with dead grass that I swept up from the lawn. After a couple weeks, it looks like it is coming in pretty well.
