On some flats I have come up with a believable brake wheel mount.
It looks similar to the mount used on Athearn cabooses. I take an old Kadee coupler; the model number of which I forget but it is a discontinued one, that has the tiny centering spring inside a hollow shank.
The shank has a tiny hole at the rear with the hollow portion leading towards the coupler head itself. I cut the head off, add a brake wheel to the tiny hole and glue the head end onto the car deck.
I'll try and remember to take some pix. I have used this method to replace missing brake wheel stands on many cabooses.

The Jade Fog, formerly: Dave: I hear TK is boogieing up to Allentown already. I’ll be heading out soon. Flamingo tote IS riding shotgun! For practice I went to an antiques mall yesterday to hone my visual acuity to spot deals from 15 yards or more. Hello Allentown!
