Here's a more full shot:
This is a long shot of the cars that it brought in. Down by the white tent you could enter one car that had informational displays. Note the line. We're about in the middle. By the time we left it was twice as long.
As for the rest of the day, it was frustrating. Omaha railroad days involves a very very affordable package deal to several local points of interest, including the botanical gardens that host model railroad clubs and have a garden display. They provided school buses so that in theory you can park in one spot and be shuttled around to the rest of the sites. Unfortunately, they had nowhere near enough buses. The lines were insane. We ended up short on time because of waiting over 45 minutes for one bus and about 30 on another. When I went about ten years ago, the event was barely attended. Now it's completely crazy. I'm glad I got to take both of my kids when they were little, but I won't do it again. I'd rather go on an off day, drive myself, and pay at each place. Plus, it was 93 and humid. Some of the older guys didn't look to good. I was expecting either heat stroke or a riot.

umpdan31: JadeFog: i found a brand new in the box ConCor PRR mail car. Although the ones that I already have are all heavyweights with 6 wheel trucks, this one is a lightweight with 4 wheel trucks. I also picked up a few assorted couplers. Glad he was open again.

umpdan31: The mail car was 10 bucks. Not bad for a brand new car.
