Friendship is not sub-servience and bullying does not increase our countries standing. We're the only country ever to ask NATO to come to our defense (Afganistan). They went and died for us and we repay them with this kind of treatment? Shameful.
As for intelligence agencies, I have the same generally-good-if-slightly-suspicious opinion of them that I've had for a long time. It's up to the President to act on the intelligence they give him but to assume that he knows more than them because Fox News has convinced him of the existance of a nefarious "deep state" or his unrequited love of Putin is just foolishness.
American Intelligence has been involved in alot of shady stuff, but what Trump and his supporters seem to miss is that they do actual intelligence gathering and generally serve our interests. The problem comes when one man thinks he knows better than all the intelligence gathering agencies who are doing their jobs because it doesn't serve his particular interests.
Why have you lost trust in intelligence agencies? If Bush had listened to his intelligence guys we might not have gone to Iraq. Intelligence guys got us Bin Ladin. Trump denies the weight of our own gathered intelligence because it hurts his ego to do so.
Remember, this is the same guy who started off his term insisting that he won the popular vote and had the biggest turnout for an innauguration. All politicians will try to spin thing but Trump simply ignores any fact or finding that he doesn't like and simply makes things up as they occur to him. That separates him from reality to a degree that no other American president can match.
I have alot more faith in our intelligence agencies to give Trump reliable data than I have in Trump to listen to that data and make a competent decision.
