Hello fellow Tyco Depot members,
This is RP model railroads, or you can feel free to call me "RP" or "Rob." While I am new to the Tyco Depot Forum, I am not new to trains, and certainly not Tyco! In fact, I am a teenage model railroader who is also a member of the National Model Railroad Association and the Tyco Trains Forum.
I currently have 3 layouts, all of which are deliberated below:
Up first, the Ephrata Valley Railroad.
.....A freelanced HO-Scale 4' x 4' DC layout set in the Autumn season during the late 1950's - early 1970's. The main inspiration behind much of the scenery is at large taken from the Pennsylvania countryside, with many structures on the layout purposefully named after specific towns in PA. A variety of railroads rule the rails of the Ephrata Valley Railroad, with a majority of the rolling stock and locomotives being made by Tyco, while many vehicles and structures are Plasticville or Tyco types. This layout is now 3 years old.
Next, the Horseshoe Curve Branch Line.
.....The Horseshoe Curve Branch Line is my completed 5' x 8' N-Scale model of the Horseshoe Curve in Altoona, PA; operated in the time frames of the reign of the Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) as well as its short successor the Penn Central (PC). The layout itself is built on a 5' x 8' benchwork which has provided not only the perfect modeling space for the Curve, but has also made train staging possible at the forefront of the layout. My main purpose for constructing the Horseshoe Curve Branch Line layout was to capture the ultimate railroading at the Horseshoe Curve rather than precise accuracy in elevation, etc, which I believe that I've achieved. This layout is nearly 2 years old.
Last, but certainly not least....RETRO TYCO.
On April 8th, 2018, I announced on the Tyco Trains Forum that I had plans to construct a third layout -- this one in HO-Scale but dedicated specifically to everything TYCO. This 4' x 5' strictly TYCO trains layout project was quickly entitled "RETRO TYCO," and 1 day later, all track for RETRO TYCO was laid. In the weeks that followed, I continued to improve my vision and thanks to obtaining great deals on vintage TYCO electric locomotives, train cars, and operating accessories, progress made on the layout proceeded swiftly. At this point, RETRO TYCO is a fully-fledged TYCO Train Maniac's layout, and also features some of TYCO's slot car/truck action as part of an elevated slot-track oval.
Well, I hope that this serves to fully introduce me, and I look forward to collaborating with you all in the future.
