What was the business model of that high speed line and who was the operating entity?
IMHO, it's a perfect example of what happens when a politician lets their distaste for a previous administration and their "government-is-bad" philosophy get in the way of common sense and ironically ends up wasting many (50+) millions of dollars, killing jobs and stifiling the very kind of economic gains that would typically have been part of their political platform.
When the suit was finally settled, Talgo recieved about 10 mil in damages and got to keep the two trains that Wisconsin had ordered and the 40 mil they paid for them.
