It's been a bit of a break, but I'm back with more comparisons.
Round 17
Matchbox has brought back the "Working Rigs" series in 2018. This one is called the "MBX Crane"
The other side of the crane has the unfortunate "MBX" (Matchbox) moniker, but overall a great vehicle. size is spot-on and especially with a bit of paint, this thing is a must-use for my layout. Technically it hasn't got a prototype but it is near-as-makes-no-difference a Liebherr LTM series crane. One of my favorite vehicle finds of the year and only $5 at Walmart.
Here's another Working Rig, the simply named "Excavator"
A few minor shortcomings in the odd tread side frames and open sided hydraulic cylinders and judging by the cockpit, it might be a smidge big, but overall it's still a great vehicle and with just a bit of work could fit right in. It's a nice larger size compared to the undersized construction vehicles sometimes found regular matchbox lines.
A third vehicle making an appearance in the working rigs series in 2018 is one of the finest fire trucks Matchbox has ever built. I didn't take a comparison picture as showed the earlier version here:

The new version differs only slightly in paint and has silver/grey instead of chrome details.
Here's another big one, though harder to find at reasonable prices, the Road Champs Minniapolis St Paul Bus. This one has a listed scale of 1:87, so it should be spot on.
I don't model the Twin cities, but this would be a good trailer load or a repaint to CTA colors would be easy.
Now a bit of an oddity and not a Matchbox, but Buss had asked about it and I wanted to share it. This is part of the Hallmark "Nostalgic Houses" series. From 2001, #18 Service Station.
Spot on for scale and excellently detailed.
You can't see, but there's even a Christmas tree in the attic. I have removed the hanger from the top of the roof on mine. I probably wouldn't use this on a layout as is, but there's some great detail bits and it might serve as part of a low profile backdrop.
