With my recent acquisition of a Kato METRA set, I'm kicking around the idea of having an N-scale loop and maybe a couple of sidings riding around the ridge of the cliffs that will surround my mine on 3 sides.
I realize it's not an original idea, but have any of you done this? Any tips or tricks? I'm really liking the idea that this might let me do some residential/suburban modeling which is not something that fits on the HO section of my layout.
You can see the N set I purchased here: www.tycodepot.com/post/73846/thread Assuming it works (haven't tested it yet) I'd have to drop about $100 more in track and all this could happen only after most of the HO layout is done, but I'm dreaming already.
rbturner: Just spent a few minutes on the MR forum. Thankfully we do not have the know-it-all elite snots here like they have there.

The Jade Fog, formerly: Dave: I would do that IF I were a member there! I pop in on that site to look around from time to time, but ease on out pretty quietly and close the door behind me. It can be entertaining to listen to the arguing!

rbturner: Take a look at the Bachmann forum some time. I swear they have little to no reading comprehension.
