I have 2 dogs. But they are no cuter then those already posted. So instead I will add a couple photos of some of my odder pets. You probably won't see too many of these in the local pet shop these days.

I love dogs. We had 2 Springer Spaniels and lost them about 10 years ago. We keep talking about getting another one but I don't think I can go through losing another one. It just about killed me.
I might just mention here, and please do not take this wrong; some folks love cats. I get that and we have had cats too. But, I have worked on so many locomotives to repair what turned out to be bound up mechanisms, packed with cat hair. So I would say to keep them off the layout if that is even possible.

Pets and train rooms generally don't mix well, at least that's my rule. But every once and awhile I'd let our cat Kyra come down and help. She was a stray that was as bedraggled as a cat can be when we found her at work, but she cleaned up pretty well. We said goodbye today after only 2 and a half years, but here are some shots of her helping me get styrene shims together for draft gear upgrades.
And doing her best Chessie the Cat impersonation

NickelPlate: I find an "Ok, Zoomer!" retort with rolled eyes and a valley girl voice can be quite effective. 😄

John: The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. >>>>
