Round 22. More Aircraft for your scale-perusal today.
This is the airplane from an Athearn flat. Destined for the stripping vat and it needs props and wheels, but it seems like a nice enough approximation of a Beechcraft and pretty darn close to scale.
Not sure what model it's trying to be, but I've seen this plane in a dozen different versions from various cheap toy companies over the years.
Had one as a kid in the 90s also. In need of a repaint and I'll probably cut off the little gas tank/bomb things on the wingtips, but it'd be a nice addition to an airfield and it's cheap too.
Hot Wheels "Proper Chopper".
Hook needs to go and the tail is unusually strait so that it can collapse into the fuselage. Still, the size is good and it's been available in 30 different releases over the years so it's cheap and not hard to find.
Matchbox "Aero Junior"
Had high hopes for this one, but it is oddly proportioned and the driver is too big, being much closer to OO han HO. Still, it's a neat vehicle and my son loves it.
Corgi "Juniors E34 Army Sting Military Helicopter"
Spot on for size, good looking and the only question is whether to put it on the flatbed of a military train or to repaint as the small rescue helicopter it probably should be. I'm fairly certain the tubes on the side of the fuselage are compartments for rescue gear.
Majorette "Ford CL-9000 Seaplane Carrier"
Aside from the oddly high suspension, the Tractor is perfect.
Trailer is pretty good, but it appears to be a car carrier with the top left off. Might want to cut off the weird back extension.
The aircraft snaps together nicely and is perfectly scaled.
Nose and wings could use a repaint and maybe add some glass to the windows, but I love this little plane. Only problem is that it is a floatplane so it needs some landing gear to be added to the bottom of the floats to look right on a runway.
