I've seen them, they looks really good. In fact, I actually looked in older Model Railroader catalogs from back when they released this thing and man, people loved these things back in the day.
"A lot of modellers out there who go to the train shows see these broken H0 stuff and go 'This is useless.' when in reality, it can still be used for modelling whether it's as a prop on your layout or a cool project to make something old new again."

Years ago my brother had the Bachman Consolidation in Reading. Unfortunately his ran poorly, as if it had square wheels, so it was renamed the "Conslopidation". The loco wound up as scrap in a gondola, but 30 years later its tender survives after being converted into a water tank for the PC MOW. I found a photo to model from online:

Hi Dave. That tender is from the old Bachmann Reading I-10 heavy Consolidation that was powered by a slot car style motor. Like all old Bachmann, the center of the axles were basically plastic tubes that almost always split, allowing the drivers to come apart. I've restored a few, but it takes some work.
Ken's Consolidation is the better release from the 90's, based on a more typical 2-8-0 type. They are smooth, quiet runners with a much better mechanism.
Nice job on your water supply tank, though. It would definitely catch the eye of any distracted MOW crew working on the line.
I got one for Christmas about 20 years ago. (AT&SF) Was supposed to go with the track planned for "the kids". Still sitting in the box. I still have a box full of track and some boxcars, etc., and now that I'm retired, maybe that track will still happen. Will the 2-8-0 configuration make it around 18 in curves, as I have a bunch of those?

yardmaster54: A map of WV from the 50's & 60's, must of had 2 roads. One going north and south and one going east & west.

JNXT 7707: Living in DFW, I'd pay money to live in a state with just 2 roads!

yardmaster54: Jerry when you lived in WV did you ever visit the Cass scenic railroad?
Nov 17, 2019 20:50:26 GMT -5
JNXT 7707: Yes I did, YM. Rode it many times, strting as a kid back in the 60s all the way up to when I took my future bride on it in 2007. I am hoping to ride it again in the fall of 2020 if all goes to plan! Have you ever rode it?

oldtimer52: Oh goodie. I just got a recipe for a garlic and butter roasted, stuffed flamingo. Just in time for Thanksgiving.

JNXT 7707: Mmmmm....sign me up for that, OT!

The Jade Fog, formerly: Dave: But you'll have to substitute a duck for the flamingo, unless you live out a few inches further than the long arm of the law (at least here in the States).

wks: I believe eating flamingo meat would be sacrilege at least on this forum.

The Jade Fog, formerly: Dave: That sounds like dangerous and painful territory, Randy. I'll know your pain at Thanksgiving when the in-laws' TVs don't change from the Hallmark channel.

JNXT 7707: If you go, take the train all the way up to the top of Bald Knob. In the fall, the colors are incredible. I think it was around the first week of October when I was last there - of course the leaves peak at different times.
